All About Me

All About Me

When I was 7, I nearly crippled myself trying to fly off the bed like Superman. To this day I feel like it would’ve worked if I didn’t get the oversized red beach towel caught in the ceiling fan.

I’ve spent a lifetime fantasizing about writing the great American novel, knowing full well that I would sacrifice any shot at a normal life in the process. After self-publishing my first amateur work during my senior year of college, I caught the eye of a FOX exec who wanted to develop my story into a pilot. Merely days before discussing agents and contracts, she was walking her dog in Central Park when she died of a massive coronary. What made matters even worse was the fact that this happened on my 24th birthday.

Defeated and frustrated, I escaped to my old college town to fend off depression and dementia, where I met a beautiful older ad exec who got me a modeling gig that made me a few thousand and rescued my confidence. Just as I was ready to move back to Manhattan, 9/11 happened, which inspired me to buy my first used car and take off for Hollywood to tap into my inner Raymond Chandler.

I had as much fun as any immature guy in his mid 20s can have in California, landing a job as a driver and bodyguard for Playboy Playmates and adult film stars. I spent a year traveling up and down the Pacific Coast Highway with some of the world’s wildest women, which inspired me to write and self publish a campy superhero novel called The Midnight Man. With the money made from sales I embarked on a new adventure by enrolling in broadcasting school and beginning a short but memorable stint in talk radio.

After bouncing around some dead end gigs and traffic reports, I finally landed my first PM drive shift at KSPN-FM in Aspen, CO, which changed my life. Becoming a rapid fixture on the Aspen social scene, I ended up meeting my future ex wife, a beautiful but ruthless socialite, who seduced me into a life of avarice and adventure working as her full time caretaker.

After partying across 5 continents in 5 years, we ended up with a brutal divorce, which sent my life into limbo, leaving me with nothing but my loyal bulldog, Baby.

After some soul searching, I started a new life on the straight and narrow. Working in special education, I found peace in a normal slow paced life. Unfortunately, while enjoying the pace, I was visiting a friend up at my old college when I was hit by a drunk driver at full speed while walking home.

I was told I nearly died in the ambulance and barely avoided major brain damage. Limited to my home during a slow, tumultuous recovery, I rediscovered my love of being a writer. I gave up teaching, grad school and a budding relationship and began the revolting, arduous process path back towards an unconventional life.

I've written my latest and favorite novel, "HOOLIGANS AND TYRANTS" available now on Amazon.com and other assorted booksellers. If you like what you read here, I'm hoping to convert you into a fan, just not the obsessive stalker type, unless of course you're hot :)

Enjoy the site, the articles, the comics and the pics. I hope you enjoy reading everything as much as I enjoyed writing it.
